The partners of the firm are visited by Charles Kaiser, Jr., Chairman
of the AICPA to discuss issues that CPA firms will encounter in
the 1990’s.
1991
The firm relocates from its Los Robles location to 11,000 square
feet of space in the Gateway Plaza Building at 300 N. Lake, one
of the newest and tallest buildings in Pasadena.
1992
The principals of Martin Werbelow and Co. elect Steve Boyer as Managing
Partner. Steve takes over from David Werbelow who served in that
capacity for 20 years. The firm also completes installation of its
Novell network server which links the company’s 30 microcomputers.
1993
Dave Beringer begins a two-year term as Treasurer for the Pasadena
Rotary Club.
1994
Steve Boyer serves a one-year term as President of the San Gabriel
Country Club.
1995
Erich Rail is elected President of the Pasadena Sunrise Rotary Club
and begins service of his 2-year term.
1996
After being with Martin Werbelow and Co. for 9 years, Erich Rail
is admitted as a partner of the firm.
1997
The firm name is changed to Martin Werbelow LLP. B.E. McKinley &
Associates, a Pasadena-based firm for more than 30 years is acquired
by Martin Werbelow. Dave Beringer becomes President of the Board
for Pacific Clinics. Later in the year, the founder of the firm,
Wallace “Buzz” Martin, passes away at the age of 76.
1998
Steve Boyer is elected to a 2-year term as Chairman of the Western
Association of Accounting Firms.
1999
The firm receives an unqualified opinion from the AICPA as part
of the Peer Review program.
